Ferndale Fall Festival 2024

We’re looking into our crystal ball and are pleased with what we see—the Ferndale Fall Festival is back for the spooky season. One wristband admits you to a fall-themed wonderland of hayrides, pony rides, roller skating, carnival games, prizes, crafts, face painting, pumpkin painting, a trick-or-treat trail, and more while supplies last. Wristbands are $8 through September 27, 2024, and $10 until October 5, 2024. Small pumpkins ages one and under get in for free.

The DIY Street Fair and Funky Ferndale Art Fair Return!

What are you doing this weekend? You better be stopping by the Funky Ferndale Art Fair and DIY Street Fair in Downtown Ferndale! Browse and shop artwork from over 140 artists and authors. Check out some live music and get to know local businesses. And, make sure to eat and drink (responsibly!) at one of our food trucks or restaurants. This is all taking place this weekend from Friday, September 20, 2024, to Sunday, September 22, 2024.

Geary Park Parking Lot Temporarily Closed

The Geary Park parking lot at the intersection of Earle and Central will be temporarily closed for repaving beginning today, Tuesday, September 10, 2024. Construction is anticipated to be complete by Tuesday, September 17, 2024, weather permitting. Park goers can park on the street instead. Thank you for your understanding!

East Cambourne Intersection Construction: Train Track Right of Way

East Cambourne will be closed at the intersection of the railroad crossing tomorrow, Tuesday, September 10, 2024, and Wednesday, September 11, 2024, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This will allow the Public Works Department to complete pavement work within the railroad right of way east of the tracks.

Exciting Improvements are Coming to Martin Road Park!

Exciting renovations are happening at Martin Road Park. Don't worry, the park is still open during construction. These grant-supported improvements include new pickleball courts, a basketball court, a pavilion, a shade structure, drinking fountains, and accessible benches, tables, parking spaces, and paths.

The Ferndale Dream Cruise returns on Friday, August 16, 2024, and Saturday, August 17, 2024, in Downtown Ferndale at the intersection of Nine Mile and Woodward. Before you rev it up, let's do a quick driving test. 

Public Works Lead Service Line Inspections

DPW will be visiting homes the week of August 12, 2024, and meeting with residents to verify water service material. It should take no more than five minutes to check out the water line and snap some pictures. This research is important to understand the concentration of lead service lines in the area and how to better prioritize the replacement program.

The August Primary Election is on August 6, 2024. Voters will nominate candidates to represent the major political parties for the November General Election. This election does not include presidential candidates—the Presidential Primary Election was held in February.

New and Improved Election Signs!

Our signs for the upcoming elections just had a makeover, thanks to a collaboration between the City Clerk's Office, Communications Department, and Public Works Department! The old signs were made new to help voters navigate the polls for future elections. 

Martin Road Park Tree Concern

Please be advised that the playground and pavilion at Martin Road Park are temporarily closed. There is a severely cracked tree that is posing a danger to the area. The Public Works Department is working with an arborist to remove the tree. We know this is unfortunate, but due to the tree's poor health, safety for parkgoers is DPW's top priority. Please avoid the barricaded area. We will provide an update as soon as we can.

Water Main Break & Emergency Outage

The Department of Public Works (DPW) is managing an emergency water shutoff on Hilton Rd. and Goodrich St. between Sylvan and Mapledale.

New Parking Rates as of Monday, July 1, 2024

New Ferndale parking rates are in effect as of July 1, 2024. Parking at The dot structure is now $1.25 per hour, all other surface lots are $1.35 per hour, and on-street parking is now $1.60. All parking is still free on Sundays and 14 holidays throughout the year.
