Yard Waste

Seasonal curbside yard waste collection is provided annually from spring through mid-December and includes leaves, grass clippings, and small branches. 

Curbside collection begins Monday, April 6, 2026 and runs through Friday, December 18, 2026.

Yard Waste Requirements

Yard waste must: 

  • Be separated from trash and recycling 

  • Weigh less than 50 pounds 

  • Be under 4 feet in length 

  • Acceptable containers include: Trash cans with “yard waste” decals AND 30-gallon paper yard waste bags 

Prohibited Practices

Residents may not: 

  • Blow leaves or grass clippings into the street 

  • Deposit yard waste onto neighboring properties 

  • Mix yard waste with trash or recycling 

Violations may result in enforcement action. 

Brush and Branches

Brush less than 2 inches in diameter and under 4 feet in length may be bundled with twine and collected with yard waste. 

Brush chipping service is available for larger branches: 

  • Up to 4 inches in diameter 

  • 4 feet or less in length 

  • Neatly stacked at the curb

Drop-Off Option

Residents from SOCRRA member communities may bring up to 10 paper yard waste bags per day to SOCRRA yard waste drop-off locations. No appointment is required for yard waste drop-off only. 

Additional Information

Acceptable items: Grass clippings, leaves, sod, garden waste, tree and shrub trimmings, small stumps, untreated and unpainted wood boards (nails removed), straw bales, and similar items.

Non-acceptable items: Food, pet waste, noxious weeds, grill charcoal, paper products, plastic bags, pumpkins, and other items that belong in the trash or recycling.
