City of Ferndale Welcomes New Councilmember Nina LaSalle

The City of Ferndale is pleased to welcome Nina LaSalle to the City Council. Nina was sworn in at the City Council meeting on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. She will serve the rest of the current term until December 31, 2027.

Nina has lived in Ferndale for five years and chose the City because of its welcoming atmosphere. She values residents' involvement and likes the City’s approach to housing, equity, and future planning.

Councilmember LaSalle was selected by the City Council from several candidates after an open community application process. LaSalle stood out because of her background and experience in public finance and housing. She is currently employed as a Financial Analyst with experience in grant management, a perspective that will greatly benefit the Ferndale community. She has also served as an ESL instructor, prioritizing accessibility and inclusion, with a strong foundation in Ferndale.

Nina’s priorities include housing, budgeting, and ensuring Ferndale’s investments positively impact the community while remaining financially sound. She also wants to promote inclusion through efforts like the Human Rights Campaign and support the Housing Trust Fund however she can.

“I’m very excited to serve the people of Ferndale! I will make sure to do my best to be accountable and transparent and make sure that the community thrives,” stated Nina.

On behalf of the City of Ferndale, we welcome and congratulate Councilmember LaSalle!
