Finance Policies

The City of Ferndale's finance policy establishes the framework for managing the City's financial resources responsibly and transparently. This policy guides procurement, spending, and long-term financial planning policies with the mission of ensuring the City's fiscal stability while meeting the needs of its residents.

By outlining standards for accounting, auditing, debt management, and investment practices, the policy promotes accountability and provides clear guidelines for financial decision-making across all departments. It aims to optimize resource allocation, maintain public trust, and support sustainable economic growth for the community.

The 2024 City Council Strategic Plan prioritizes an update to the City's comprehensive finance policy. The Finance department is in the process of fulfilling an update by May, 2024.

Procurement Policy

The Procurement Policy is a subsection of the Finance Policy. The policy was last revised in 2023.
