Shortly after the start of his first term, Mayor Dave Coulter launched the new Ferndale Parks Blue Ribbon Commission. Following an extensive survey and community feedback project, the group outlined a series of updates and features desired by residents, including open restrooms, updated play equipment, walking paths, a dog park, and a splash pad.
In the past three years, the City has worked—under direction of Mayor Coulter and the Commission—to makes these wishes reality. The majority of our parks have been updated with new benches/tables, modern play structures, and attractive (and thoughtfully placed) landscaping. A dog run installed at Wilson Park issued roughly 150 memberships in its first six months.
Parks remain one of the City's main priorities moving forward, and we will continue to work to create clean, safe, natural spaces for our residents. If you have ideas or feedback about any of our parks, we welcome you to use our Parks Feedback Form.
