Ferndale, Michigan – For over 12 years the City of Ferndale in partnership with the 43rd District court has allocated a portion of fines toward a new court building. “We have been saving for a long time,” said Chief Judge Longo, “it’s been challenging to keep up with ADA requirements and our space needs; these changes will allow us to provide a much better service to our residents”.

City Council Limits Firework Celebrations During National Holidays

Last week, the State of Michigan returned some local control for the management of firework celebrations.  During Monday night's City Council meeting, Council voted in favor of an ordinance amendment to prohibit the ignition of fireworks between 12 a.m. to 8 a.m. during holidays and on New Years Day, between 1 a.m. - 8 a.m.
