The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to consider adoption of the Master Plan Update at 6pm on Wednesday, January 18th in Council Chambers. The City encourages residents and business owners to attend the public hearing and learn more about the plan, which will set a common vision and goals for Ferndale in the next 5-10 years and beyond.
The Ferndale Parks and Recreation and Department of Public Works staff and Parks and Recreation Commission have been working on an update to the City’s Parks and Recreation Master Plan with consultants from Hamilton Anderson Associates over the past year. Communities are required by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Environment (DNRE) to update their Plan every 5 years to be eligible for grant funds.
The City of Ferndale will provide the Kulick Community Center as a temporary shelter from the cold temperatures, which are expected to be in the single digits today and tomorrow.
The Planning Commission originally scheduled for Wednesday, December 21st has been moved to Wednesday, December 14th. The December 14th Planning Commission meeting will also be moved to Kulick Community Center due to City Hall construction.
