Yard waste season begins on Monday, April 1, 2024. Yard waste must be placed in reusable, labeled containers (labels available at City Hall or the Public Works yard), or brown kraft bags. Yard waste is collected on your regular trash day. Generally speaking, yard waste items are not forms of trash or recycling. Permitted items include things like grass and sticks, wood shavings, brush, and more, while non-permitted items include most food, plastic, charcoal, etc. (Did we also mention our compost program?) Celebrate Bike Safety Month at this free, family-friendly bike safety event! The Ferndale Parks and Recreation, Police, and Fire Departments will be hanging out at Garbutt Park from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2024, to help teach bike safety to kids. Bring your bikes, roll on over, and learn how to be safe on your bike this summer. 🚲☀️

Please join us in celebrating the 106th Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 27, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the intersection of Livernois and Oakridge in Ferndale! The parade will conclude at the Memorial Mall, a beautiful monument dedicated to those who have fallen.
